Shooting a Colt ACE for the first time.

A friend of mine was able to buy a used Colt ace, it's a Colt 1911 in 22 RF caliber, equipped with a special floating chamber wich increases the felt recoil.

The owner read on an american forum, the felt recoil is similar as shooting a true .45, it sounded optimistic to us to say the least.

We shot CCI mini mag, the felt recoil was comparable to the .32 acp, shot in a Walther PP, the last one giving more muzzle flip.

Anyway it's a nice buy, the.22 RF is a cheap ammo, ideal for practicing trigger finger control and, with this genius floating chamber system it's very funny to shoot.

The production ended in 1983, I'm thinking a modern alloy frame version would have success, too bad Colt is no longer a very innovative compagny.
